WHAT WE DID
Background
Originally owned and operated by chefs in the heart of wine country, Sonoma Gourmet products have always been made with care and with minimal ingredients. As they calculated their next move to grow and dominate the shelves, the original identity and packaging was found to lack an ownable identity and the visual immediacy to take on the competition.
Approach
Go big or go home was the strategy. We made art out of big type so the labels felt almost like posters on jars. An elaborate color palette was established, comprised of fun combinations to complement each flavor. The logo itself was built to dovetail with the new look and an SG symbol was created to accompany the logotype and move freely about the identity system where needed. The brand continues to grow, from pasta sauces, to infused oils, and even… a bloody mary mix.
